64.86 pc voters exercise franchise in first phase Jharkhand polls till 5 pm – World News Network

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], November 13 (ANI): Jharkhand recorded a voter turnout of 64.86 per cent till 5 pm in the first phase of assembly elections, according to Election Commission data.
Lohardaga constituency is leading with a 73.21 per cent turnout, followed by the Seraikella-Kharsawan and Gumla with 72.19 per cent and 67.35 per cent respectively.
Hazaribagh saw a turnout of 59.13 per cent till 5 pm while the state’s capital city Ranchi recorded 60.49 per cent.
The voter turnout in Ramgarh is 66.32 per cent, Khunti 68.36 per cent, West Singhbum 66.87 per cent, Latehar 67.16 per cent, Garhwa 67.35 per cent, and East Singhbum 64.87 per cent.
Voting for the first phase of the Jharkhand assembly elections began on Wednesday morning, with voting taking place in 43 out of 81 seats. Elections on the remaining 38 seats will be held on November 20. Votes will be counted on November 23.
Former Indian cricketer and legendary World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni cast his vote at a polling booth in Ranchi for the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
The 43-year-old cricketer was accompanied by his wife, Sakshi. A voter turnout of 59.28 per cent was recorded till 3 pm in the first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly Elections. (ANI)
