Voting for the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Tripura began at 9 am on Tuesday, with the polling process taking place in the lobby of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.
Rajib Bhattacharya, state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), contested as the BJP candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat.
After casting his vote, Dr. Saha expressed confidence in Bhattacharya’s victory.
“We have nominated BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya as our candidate for the sole Rajya Sabha seat. We have 47 votes, including those from the BJP, Tipra Motha, and IPFT, which will be in favour of Rajib Bhattacharya. His victory is certain,” he said.
