Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 4 (ANI): Groups of Students of Sarojini Naidu Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Bhopal vandalised school property alleging harsh treatment by the discipline incharge of the school and demanded the latter’s removal from the school on Wednesday.

Students also staged a demonstration inside and outside the school. Additionally, they blocked the roads. The students alleged that the discipline incharge, Varsha Jha, used to give them harsh punishments on being late and make them stand outside in scorching heat.
Students said, “If a student gets late even by a minute then, Varsha Jha ma’am, who is discipline in-charge of school, gives harsh punishment to them. She makes them stand for an hour in the heat and students also faint. We demand her removal from the school.”
School Principal, Malini Verma told ANI, “There is a discipline incharge at the school who stopped students when they came in late. No teacher gave punishment to any student. Varsha Jha is not a teacher here, she is a retired captain from the Military and appointed here as a discipline incharge. All the officers of our department are present and they will take the required action.”
ACP Habibganj, Mayur Khandelwal says, “We received information from Sarojini Naidu School that there were a few demands of the student due to which a law and order issue developed at the school. Following which we arrived here, we are trying to convince the student and coordinating with school management.”
Later on the matter was pacified after the demands of the students met to remove the discipline incharge. The student also expressed pleasure upon the removal of the discipline incharge.
“The demands of the students to remove the captain (discipline in charge) have been fulfilled and the student should go back to their classes,” said Narendra Kumar, District Education Officer Bhopal. (ANI)
