New Delhi [India], September 21 (ANI): The Ministry of Steel on Saturday organised a ‘Swachhata Run’ under ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ at Nehru Park in the Chanakyapuri area of the the national capital.

Officials and workers from the ministry participated in the ‘Swachhata Run’ event.
Earlier on September 17, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, on the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday, said, “…Every year, we organise ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada’ from his birthday to October 2 and many types of programs are held in it… an exhibition on PM Modi has been organised in the state (Chhattisgarh) office. The work he has done from his birth till now is presented here. Everyone is requested to take out some time and come here to see it.”
On September 17, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in the ‘Safai Mitras’ programme held in Bhopal, where he also inaugurated the ‘Swachhata Pakhwada 2024’.
“It is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday today, coinciding with Vishwakarma Jayanti. I extend my greetings to the people of the state on this occasion. Swachchhata Pakhwada is also being launched today and will continue until October 1 across the state and country,” said CM Yadav.
Reflecting on PM Modi’s call for cleanliness from the Red Fort, the Chief Minister remarked that initially, people didn’t grasp the significance of cleanliness, but over time, it has gained widespread acceptance.
“I am proud to say that the country’s villages have received the Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus status, and exemplary work has been done in our state. Bhopal has been recognised as the ‘Clean Capital’ of the country, and Indore has been awarded the title of Cleanest City for the seventh consecutive time. Madhya Pradesh’s achievements in cleanliness are remarkable. I extend my congratulations to all,” CM Yadav stated.
“Swachhata Pakhwada – Swachhata Hi Seva” is a massive cleanliness drive and is an initiative to promote cleanliness and environmental sustainability, which usually commences from September 17 and is conducted till October 2 across the country. (ANI)
