Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 15 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has appreciated AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for raising the voice of the poor and the marginalised people in the country. He added that a good opposition will help the government to work efficiently.
The Telangana CM was speaking at the book launch of “Prophet for the World” by Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani on Saturday, the event was also attended by MP Asaduddin Owaisi.
“The Bhagavad Gita, Quran, and Bible preach only peace in the world. The sacred scriptures of all religions spread the message of the welfare of all… It is a matter of pride that the President of the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board hails from this region… Asaduddin Owaisi criticised the Congress government sometimes. A good opposition will help the government to work efficiently… The count of leaders has gone down to speak on behalf of poorer sections in the Parliament. Asaduddin Owaisi is one among a few who raise the voice for the poor,” said the Telangana CM.
Earlier on Friday, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy requested the Union Government to extend immediate financial assistance to the flood-affected Telangana, which has suffered huge rain-related damages, as per an official release from CMO.
CM Revanth Reddy urged all-out help from the centre without any conditions to provide relief to the affected people in the state. The CM also emphasised that the strict rules that are being implemented by the centre for the utilization of the disaster funds should be relaxed, press release stated.
CM Revanth Reddy brought to the notice of the central team about the hurdles being faced by the state government in the utilization of at least one rupee from the available Rs 1350 crore NDRF funds, even if the state is submerged, due to the stringent central regulations.
The guidelines have prescribed the utilisation of only Rs one lakh for the repair of damaged roads on one km stretch. The CM said that it would not be possible to take up even temporary repairs of the damaged roads with such meagre charges for repairs fixed by the centre. (ANI)
