Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 5 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in a program organised in Ujjain on the occasion of Teachers’ Day and emphasised the crucial role a Guru in life, explaining that the word “Guru” signifies one who guides us from darkness to light.
CM Yadav made the remark while addressing the Shikshak Samman Samaroha-2024 organised at Government Higher Secondary School of Excellence, Madhav Nagar, in Ujjain on Thursday.
Speaking at the function, the CM highlighted that former President of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, dedicated his birthday to honouring teachers. While extending his Teacher’s Day wishes to all educators across the state, he praised their dedication to shaping a better generation through their diligent efforts.
“Goswami Tulsidas contributed to establishing and honouring Hindi and Sanskrit as the primary languages of Indian society. Our dialects evolve into languages over time. The significant contributions of noted litterateurs Shri Madhavrao Sapre and Makhanlal Chaturvedi to the development of Hindi as a national language,” CM said.
CM Yadav explained that the word “Guru” originates from Sanskrit, emphasising that by upholding the Guru-Shishya tradition, we remain connected to Sanatan culture.
“The Guru plays a vital role in guiding us from darkness to light and a Guru’s wisdom is essential for transforming bad governance into good governance,” he said.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the government’s decision to rename the title of Kulpati (Vice Chancellor) to Kulguru.
Teachers of Ujjain district who gave 100 percent results in high school and higher secondary board examinations were honoured by the Chief Minister with shawls, shriphal, and certificates. Besides, 11 ISO-certified cluster principles of Ujjain were also honoured with ISO certificates on the occasion.
In his address, while remembering former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan CM Yadav noted that dialects gradually evolve into full-fledged languages. He remarked that Hindi has undergone significant development over the past thousand years.
The Chief Minister further highlighted that, despite being a Sanskrit scholar, Goswami Tulsidas played a crucial role in establishing Hindi as the language of society. By composing the Ramcharitmanas in Hindi, Tulsidas ji brought the Ramayana into every home, he said. (ANI)
