Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], December 26 (ANI): BJP leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy on Thursday hit out at Congress over the “distortion” of the Indian map at the posters put up at its meeting to commemorate the centenary of the 1924 Congress session in Karnataka’s Belagavi and alleged that if Congress comes to power, it will change the map of India.
Narayanaswamy, who is the Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, alleged that “fake” Gandhis are taking part in the Congress meeting.
“This is the ‘Mahadhiveshan’ of fake Congress and fake Gandhis. This Karnataka government is displaying fake Gandhis. We are against this. How they removed Siachen and PoK from the map. This is internal affair of the Congress…they have given many areas..if they come to power they will change the map of India.”
BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi on Thursday accused the Congress of using distorted Indian map in its posters for the Belagavi session
Trivedi made these accusations citing a social media post of ‘BJP4Karnataka’, the Karnataka unit of BJP.
The social media post from ‘BJP4Karnataka’ reads, “@INCKarnataka, has shown utter disrespect for India’s sovereignty by displaying a distorted map at their Belagavi event, portraying Kashmir as part of Pakistan. All this just to appease their vote bank. This is shameful!”
Trivedi, who addressed a press conference, said the nation is observing Veer Bal Divas and Congress is using “distorted maps” of the country.
“…Today our nation is observing Veer Bal Divas…but at this moment, another picture comes up which aches our hearts. BJP Karnataka has posted a tweet in which it can be seen that in the event organised by Congress in Belagavi, the Indian map they have put up, Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Aksai Chin are not there…. they have done similar things in the past as well… The important thing is that they have put this with the photo of Mahatma Gandhi. So, I want to express my pain…it has become clear that Congress has connections with the powers that are trying to break India,” Trivedi alleged.
Congress is holding its CWC meeting on December 26 and 27 in Belagavi to mark the centenary of the session of the party in 1924. (ANI)
