New Delhi [India], July 26 (ANI): Karnataka’s BJP party members protested over the alleged Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and the Valmiki Development scam in the Parliament premises on Friday.
Speaking to ANI, former Karnataka Minister and MP Basvaraj Bommai said the Congress has looted Rs 1087 crore of the people in the Valmiki Development Corporation case. He also questioned what Rahul Gandhi was doing when the money of the Dalits was being looted.
“The Congress has looted Rs. 1087 crore from the people in the Valmiki Development Corporation case. What was Rahul Gandhi doing when the money of the Dalits was being looted? Such looting can only be done by the Congress party,” he said.
Further, he said, “If they are right, let them allow the CBI to investigate.”
Additionally, BJP MP Jagadish Shettar spoke about the MUDA issue and said, “Siddaramiah is not ready to allow hearing the case in the assembly. All the leaders of the opposition have been demanding a discussion, but detailed discussions are being denied, which shows the BJP is the culprit. This is the reason why the BJP is holding a protest,” he said.
Brijesh Chowta, another MP from Karnataka said “The government led by Siddaramiah is the worst government in the history of Karnataka. He claims himself to be the champion of the backwards, but he is the one who is involved in such a big corruption scam that involves the Schedule tribes.”
Further, he said, “The most unfortunate thing is that Siddaramiah was a very senior-level politician. The BJP seriously demands that the CM should resign and give the case to CBI and come clean if he is innocent.”
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said, “The level of corruption which has been taking place in Karnataka is horrible, which is why the people have been raising the issue continuously.”
Further, he said, “The leaders of the Karnataka BJP have been continuously raising the issue of corruption in the MUDA and Valmiki scams, but unfortunately, they are not allowing any discussion on the MUDA issue. The CM of Karnataka is directly involved in the MUDA scam. Their intentions are visible. The Congress Party is the root of corruption in the country. I urge the Chief Minister Siddaramiah to resign and transfer the case to the CBI.” (ANI)
