Mysuru (Karnataka) [India], September 20 (ANI): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said that he has instructed the Karnataka Public Service Commission to arrange a re-examination of gazetted probationary posts as soon as possible.
There had been an outrage over the poor translation of questions from English to Kannada, leading to confusion among Kannada-medium students, in the examination.
“KPSC has been instructed to arrange re-examination of gazetted probationary posts as soon as possible,” Siddaramaiah told reporters here.
The preliminary exams for filling posts of 350 Gazetted Probationary officers, held on August 27.
Talking about the demand to raise the age limit for constable posts from 27 to 33 years, he said that he has informed the State Home Minister G Parameshwara to take a one-time decision on this.
Answering the reporters’ question about the stone pelting during the Ganesha installation in Davangere, the Chief Minister said that this year, across the state sixty thousand Ganeshas were installed.
“There was stone pelting in Davangere and there was a riot in Nagamangala. Here the duty of the police was neglected, Deputy Superintendent of Police has been suspended,” he said.
The Chief Minister accused the BJP of instigating communal riots. The Chief Minister also slammed Union Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy, saying that his allegations against the government have no “logical end”.
“Kumaraswamy has always been a hit-and-run man, and no allegation seems to have a logical end. Kumaraswamy is a Union Minister and should act responsibly. One should know the truth of the matter and speak,” Siddaramaiah said.
Kumaraswamy on Monday slammed the Congress government in Karnataka for the delay in conducting local body elections in the state.
Taking a dig at the human chain organised by the Karnataka government on Sunday to mark ‘International Day of Democracy’, Kumaraswamy alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s “actions are more about propaganda than actual governance.”
“In the guise of promoting human welfare, you formed a human chain, the @INCKarnataka government shows no concern for democracy. If they did, they would first conduct elections for local bodies. Since coming to power, they have not conducted elections for the fundamental pillars of democracy at the district & taluk panchayat levels and the BBMP. Why? Just because you have come to power, does it mean that the local governments should be ignored while you parade around the Vidhana Soudha?,” Kumaraswamy said in a post on X. (ANI)
