Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], September 14 (ANI): Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling said on Saturday that he is taking stock of the diarrhoea outbreak in the Malkangiri district.
He said that 67 people are infected by the current outbreak, which has gripped the hilly area of Malkangiri.
“I am taking stock of the situation. It has spread in a hilly area of Malkangiri. A team has been sent by our department. The matter is being investigated, and samples are being taken. Patients are being treated. According to the report, 67 people are infected,” he told ANI.
The patients are being treated at the Malkangiri District hospital.
The minister said that there have been media reports that there were casualties due to the outbreak, but the investigation is going on to ascertain that the deaths are due to diarrhoea or another issue.
