New Delhi [India] April 3 (ANI): Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has shared his thoughts on the match-winning innings by wicketkeeper/batter of Gujarat Titans (GT) Jos Butler against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Williamson praised Jos Buttler’s impact on the Gujarat Titans and highlighted the refreshing energy he brings to the team.
While speaking on Match Centre Live on JioHotstar, Williamson admired Buttler’s commitment to his game plan, which focuses on consistent performance rather than just hitting every ball for six. Williamson believed that Buttler’s proven track record as a top batter and match-winner would be a significant asset for GT in the tournament.
“There’s always something refreshing about joining a new team, and that’s what Jos Buttler got here at Gujarat Titans. It’s a great environment. What I’m really enjoying about Jos at the moment is that while many big hitters in other teams are looking to hit every ball for six, he remains totally committed to and trusting of his game plan. Over the last eight years, he has consistently been one of the top batters and a match-winner in world cricket. We saw that again this evening, and it bodes really well for GT going forward in the tournament.” Jio Star expert Kane Williamson said while speaking Match Centre Live on JioHotstar.
Gujarat Titans wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler’s unbeaten fifty thrashed the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at their home ground, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, on Wednesday, as the visitors registered a comfortable victory by eight wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Butler scored 73* runs in just 39 balls, including five fours and six sixes, with an impressive strike rate of 187.18. With this loss, the Rajat Patidar-led side slipped to the third position, whereas the Titans remained at the fourth position in the points table of the 18th edition of the cash-rich league. Both teams currently have four points under their belt after completing their three matches in the ongoing tournament. (ANI)
