New Delhi [India], September 11 (ANI) Delhi Police has arrested three persons for allegedly killing a casual labourer whose body was found under Masoodpur flyover in the national capital on Tuesday.
Police officials said said that they received a call on Tuesday evening regarding a body spotted under Masoodpur Flyover in Vasant Kunj area of Southwest Delhi. Upon reaching at the spot, they found a dead body lying beside a tree on the pavement under the flyover.
They said that the T-shirt worn by the deceased was found to be blood stained and a few stab and lacerated wounds were also prominently visible on his chest and abdomen. Police also called FSL team to the scene of crime to collect available evidences. The deceased was identified as John Madrasi and was about 40.
It was revealed that he worked as casual worker and took up small assignments of clearing blocked drains or gutters.
Police said that the teams were deployed to check the CCTV footages in the vicinity and conduct local investigation about the deceased. The team collected vital clues from CCTV nearby in which three people were seen running away from the spot at around 6:45 pm.
A team led by SHO/ VK South comprising Inspector Vipin Kumar, ASI Hari Ram and a few other police officials under supervision of ACP Vasant Kunj Satyajeet Sarin, was able to identify and nab the three accused.
They were identified as Aman, a beggar-cum-ragpicker who is resident of Rangpuri Pahadi, Aamir, who works for a company near Petrol Pump at Narsingpur in Haryana and Jeewan, a drummer, who also resides in Rangpuri Pahadi.
Police said that interrogation of the accused revealed that Aman and Jeewan had arrived near Masoodpur flyover to receive a meagre outstanding due of Rs 800 which Aamir owed to Jeewan.
Aamir had asked Jeewan to reach there and they started consuming some liquor near some bushes. The deceased had his bedding near the place of drinking.
Police officials said the trio sat there drinking and also shared liquor with the deceased. They said Aman puked near the bedding of John to which the labourer strongly objected and also resorted to abuses.
Aman, they said, got agitated and attacked John by breaking a liquor bottle. Jeewan also attacked and stabbed John with vegetable cutting knife that belonged to John, the officials said. (ANI)
