New Delhi [India], October 15 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday paid tribute to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary and said that his work in building a modern and strong India is inspiring.
“Tributes to the great scientist, former President and Bharat Ratna decorated “Missile Man” Dr APJ Abdul Kalam ji on his birth anniversary. Your contribution to the field of space and defence technology is incomparable. Your work in building a modern and strong India will always inspire us,” wrote CM Dhami on social media platform X.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Minority Front, under the leadership of National President Jamal Siddiqui, will pay tribute to Dr Kalam, marking his birth anniversary, with a nationwide campaign.
The campaign, themed “India of Dr. Kalam’s Dreams,” will involve district-level programs across the country, aimed at honouring the legacy of the renowned scientist and visionary leader.
The centrepiece of the tribute will be a seminar on the topic “India of Dr. Kalam’s Dreams,” organised at various district headquarters.
A virtual meeting to discuss the event was chaired by Jamal Siddiqui, during which BJP National General Secretary and National Incharge of the Minority Front, Dushyant Kumar Gautam, guided the officials.
In the meeting, National Executive Member Dr Aslam was appointed as the program in charge. The meeting was attended by key national and state officials, including state presidents, general secretaries, and social media in-charges.
Gautam further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions a future where India’s youth are job creators, rather than job seekers, a sentiment in line with Dr. Kalam’s dreams for India’s development.
The tribute campaign aims to deepen nationalist thinking within the minority community and highlight the significant role Dr Kalam played in India’s growth.
Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, also known as the “Missile Man of India”, served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. He also served as an aerospace scientist and worked with India’s two major space research organisations – the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Kalam also headed the projects Devil and Valiant which had the aim of developing ballistic missiles using the technology behind the successful SLV program. (ANI)
